Weird gonzo leftoid journal

April 15th, 2008

‘Platypus’ is an American organ with some strange ideas…they like to mix up critical theory with stiff orthodox leftism. They do a bit of time travelling with the Wobblies, and a get a bit flirty with some wacky tripped out stiff Stalinoid outfit who call themselves ‘Sparticists’. That must be a  funny affair, when they do roll-call at their summer schools…’I am Spartacus. No! I am Spartacus! etc etc. Confusing for the registrar.
Nevertheless, credit where credits due…Platypus recently interviewed Moishe Postone and the subsequent discussion on Georg Lukacs’ ideas is worth checking out. Postone’s reflections on Lukacs are certainly bracing, and enough to challenge any cyrogenically frozen leftoid stuck in 1917. The article can be found at: www.platypus1917.org/archive/article74/
